Partytime in Sundance

January 01, 1970 12.00 AM

Last night the Sundance Film Festival got its official start in Park City, a wild west turned glitzy ski town about an hour outside Salt Lake City. More posh than party, Park City rises to the occasion for a single weekend in January as Hollywood descends and late nights come alive.

This year, Wynn Las Vegas is bringing its DJ platform to town with a weekend line-up at Park City Live that includes Avicii and Afrojack. Nikki Beach is also coming to town, more St. Barth than Miami we hope, in a pop-up space atop the The Sky Lodge with daily after parties and après-ski scene complete with s’mores cocktails. SBE is also making a Sundance entrance with Hyde Lounge at the Downstairs nightclub on Saturday and Sunday.

But perhaps the best party of the week comes at the reopened Star Bar that will feature an extended Sundance line-up through January 25th with gigs by One Republic, Matisyahu, EC Twins and Paul Oakenfold with the club to remain open even after the film festivities end.
